Role responsibilities
• Product quality assessment and identification of critical issues for all product life cycle
• Sub-contractor onsite support for NPI and Development builds
• Product Reliability and quality goals for product development
• Yield improvements – Collaboration with other departments
• Process feedback to engineering and test engineering for improvement of quality outputs
• Identify process and product improvements to relevant departments and work to resolution as prioritised
• Product release quality and reliability for transfer to mass production
• Monitor field reliability at customers, identify quality issues and collaborate with Development and Engineering for corrective actions

Role
• The product quality engineer will learn specific products and be responsible for working with the relevant departments to resolve all issues related to quality and reliability
• This includes onsite visits in Israel and abroad at subcontractors, manufacturers and suppliers
• The role requires a range of abilities; from inspecting products, mechanical items and components to understanding the test process and its outputs in order to work with the appropriate teams and provide sufficient information to achieve effective improvements
• The product quality engineer will work with each department and become aware of all requirements relating to the specific products under their review
• Read and understand engineering drawings, instructions and processes in order to create accurate process and reliability recommendations and root cause analysis of issues that impact early design quality in order to ensure they do not continue into production
• Validate and support the statistical analysis of products in collaboration with the QA statistics engineer
• Continual improvement of product requires the product quality engineer to be hands on with the R&D, Engineering and Production teams
• This role requires time spent at subcontractors abroad as well as suppliers
• Monitor and analyse field reliability, investigate customer complaints about reliability and quality, present findings to Development and Engineering and collaborate with them for corrective actions

Qualifications and experience
• CQE and/or CRE
• 2+ years’ experience of mechanical and plastic parts inspection and standards
• 2+ years’ experience working onsite with subcontract manufacturers in a quality engineering role
Proven background of improvement for all Electronic manufacturing activities (SMT, Assembly, component quality etc…)
• 2+ years’ experience with risk management and fast improvement resolution
• 2+ years experience with Reliability calculations
• 2+ years experience with Reliability and Compliance testing
• 2+ years experience of working with Development teams
• Familiar with Reliability and Compliance standards
• Familiar with development process
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work at a distance yet achieve transparency with all relevant interfaces
• Proven track record of design, reliability and quality for product release
